How Many Gold Medals Did The USA Win In The Athens Olympics?

    The 2004, Summer Olympics were held in August at Athens, Greece. They were known as the "Games of the XXVIII Olympiad", and saw 11,099 athletes compete, accompanied by 5,501 team officials from over 200 countries.

    The final medal tally put the USA in the first place, having bagged a total of 102 medals. It also had the highest gold and silver medal tally with 36 gold medals and 39 silver. USA also had 27 bronze medals, closely following Russia with its tally of 38 bronze. There were 301 medal events in all, with 28 different sports. As far as the final medal tally goes, Russia followed with 92 medals, and China with 63. The gold medal tally however put China in second place with its 32 medals as against Russia's 27.
