The Phi Phi Islands are situated in the country of Thailand. It falls between the bigger Islands of Phuket and the mainland. The Phi Phi Islands politically fall under the province of Krabi. The co-ordinates of the Phi Phi Islands is 8°02′30″N, 98°48′39″E. The co-ordinates of the Phi Phi Don islands are 7°44′00″N, 98°46′00″E. The Ko Phi Phi Don is said to be the largest group of Islands and they are the only Islands with permanent inhabitants.
During the late 1940s the island of Phi Phi Don was populated by a majority of Muslim Fishermen. Even to this day the Population of the Phi Phi Don is more than 81 per cent Muslim dominated. It is said that some parts of the movie 'The Beach' was also filmed on the Phi Phi Islands.
