Brussels, is a city with a lots of cultural highlights, as the major city of Brussels and  the headquarters of the European Union. Firstly the mannikin pis, the little boy fountain, for some strange reason, is the must see. Secondly the museums and galleries contain wonderful collections.
There is a hudge bronze elephant statue outside the natural history museum.
The old town square near the royal castle is known to be the best place to eat and experience Flemish culture.
Flemish is the language spoken, and they are rightly proud of their food. The most Flemish thing you can taste is moules marine`.  A big, black pot ,full of steaming mussels in a white wine sauce, which is brought to your table with a fresh crusty french bagette, to dunk into it. This is also often served with potato chips and mayonaise to dip into. It is worth the build up, and then all washed down with good beer.
This square is also good for people watching, and shopping.
Around Brussels are lovely villages with forests and walks.
