Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

During his life, Aleister Crowley had developed a strong addiction to a large range of drugs. These drugs include laudanum, opium, cocaine, hashish, and heroin. He is said to have used drugs throughout his entire life. Some of this usage was supposedly tied into some of his magical practices. Crowley was first introduced to heroin when it was prescribed to him by a London doctor for the treatment of asthma and bronchitis. This drug addiction had a strong influence on his 1922 novel, Diary of a Drug Fiend. Heroin was definitely his drug of choice according to many people who knew him. This was one of the drugs that he still had an addiction for at the time of his death.
