Explain morality has a dependence on the basic structure of society its mores, environment, and customs
Answers
Morality has a social context and an individual context, these are called Morality of duty and morality of aspirations. A society has certain laws and guidelines that a member of that society must adhere to. A society that is based on religious principles will have a different set of morality versus a materialistic society will have another set of morals. Animal sacrifice is a simple example of such Morality. Some societies permit animal sacrifice as a ritual, but others denounce it as immoral. By accepting a certain society we accept its moral values and to stay in that society we are forced to adhere to those principles. Thus morality and the society are deeply interrelated.
