Do New Blankets Need To Laundered Before Use?
I believe they do because of processing chemicals, but my husband disagrees.

First, check the packaging for instructions. Most likely they will tell you to launder before use. Personally, I can't use any new fabric without washing it prior to use, most fabrics are treated with "finish" after manufacture. I also can't stand the smell of new things near my body.

No i don't think so that there is a need but if you think that they might be dirty then its your own decision. However for people with sensitive skin, don't take a chance.
