If you aren't diagnosed with clinical depression then it's pretty much dependent on the severity of it. Most people get depressed at one time or another for all kinds of reasons. We lose a loved one, for example. Maybe we find it difficult to move on and find ourselves just out of it for a time. Sometimes we find a way to get through, maybe with the help of a friend or relative. Like iamtruth said, it's pretty much up to you to choose when to get going. As a bipolar - on meds - i deal with bouts of depression periodically. It's a symptom of my illness. So, i learn to live with it and it never becomes too big a deal. There are depression chat rooms online where you can talk with others who are asking the same question you are. That's one option for you. It helps if you talk with people who have had personal experience with it. Kinda like trying to help someone with a drinking problem. If you haven't had personal experience with alcohols' negative effects on yourself or others then it's alot harder to help someone who's having the drinking problem. But, give yourself a break and try to think your way through it. Think back to when it began and see if you can figure out the reason(s) you wound up this way. Start from the beginning. It's not an impossible task to get better. There's always a solution. Keep looking for it.

Depression is something that is fabricated by your mind. It's your ego that's living from the negative feelings you are having.
You must be present in the moment, because there's where you will find yourself again. There is where your depression will fade away.
Descartes said: "I think, therefore i exist"
But he was wrong.. What he did, was that he found the root of the ego.
A more righteous way to say it is: "I am therefore I exist"
You are not your thoughts, and your thoughts are the reason why you are depressed = It's your egos fault you are depressed.
The solution is to detach yourself from your ego.
How do you do that?
You must become conscious of yourself, who you really are. That's the only way. Fighting the ego wont help you. You can't win if you fight it.
You are not your thought or your feelings.
The one you really are is the one who is observing your thoughts and feelings!
Hope this will help you
god bless You!
