Lincoln's Inn is just one of the four Inns of Court to which the barristers of England and Wales belong. The other three Inns of Court in London are Middle Temple, Gray's Inn and Inner Temple.

Lincoln's Inn is located in Holborn which is in the London Borough of Camden. It is situated just in the border of the City of Westminster and the City of London. It is directly across the road form the Royal Courts of Justice. The closest tube station to Lincoln's Inn is Chancery Lane.

Philip and Philip Charles Hardwick, a pair of father and son architects designed a large chunk of the Great Hall and the Stone Buildings. Giles Gilbert Scott another renowned architect also designed some portions of the Great Hall. It is easily to distinguish which portions of Lincoln's Inn are the work of Philip Hardwick since his initials are engraved on one side.

Famous members of Lincoln's Inn include Lord Denning, Sir Thomas Moore, Muhammad Ali Jinnah (Father of Pakistan), John Newman, Tony Blair (British Prime Minister) and his wife Cherie Booth .
