Debbie Macomber's first book was a romantic novel, and she has written a large number of novels based on romance and women fiction. Debbie used to love reading fairy tales and other fictional books. She started writing books on Christmas since 1986. She had published at least one Christmas-themed book every year. She held these books as a part of "Angel Series" after her prominent works Shirley, Mercy and Goodness.
Debbie loves Christmas very much. She believes that every woman has a perfect picture of her dream Christmas Eve in her mind, the same way they dream of romance. She says that reality is too good to be true, and the only way you could enjoy your dream is by fantasizing it. This made her write novels and novellas on Christmas which explains her imagination about a perfect Christmas Eve.
