How Big Is The Toshiba Company?

The Toshiba Company has approximately 165,000 employees the world over. Its revenues are in the range of 52 billion dollars annually, making it according to some the 7th largest manufacturer of electronic and electric equipment in the entire world. The company is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan ever since it was formed by a merger in 1939.

During most of the eighties the Toshiba Semiconductor wing was the second largest company of its kind in the world. It was in the year 1987 that the company suffered sanctions from both the American and Japanese governments for providing the soviets with CNC milling machines that would make I possible for them to manufacture silent propellers.

In January 2006 Toshiba acquired Westinghouse which was in business of manufacturing nuclear reactors. The Toshiba brand of satellite laptops has also been in the eye of a storm with users criticizing its overall performance.
