Give Me Some Examples Of When One Of Your Ideas Was Opposed In A Discussion. How Did You React?

    At times, we think that we are right and others are not getting what we are talking about. It is always not important to act the way others are acting. But sometimes we follow others. Look if you are right then others must realize it after you will give proper justifications of your arguments.
    Let me share a case of mine. Once I was there in a group discussion and was discussing about the issues of Jihad and Terrorism. As far as the issue is concerned, it is quite hot and intolerable. All of the people were of the view that Muslims are doing something good by fighting against the evil world. What I thought was that how can Muslims do something true if they are killing the innocent ones? Is it Islam who is letting us kill them? So, I protested and tried my level best to discriminate between terrorism and jihad. I don't know how I did that but my opinion was different from the opinions of the rest. But when I started to justify the present world scenario along with the position of Muslims, then I was quite successful in securing positive response from some of the group members.

      Yes it's true that whenever your work or your ideas are opposed in any discussion, your reaction is not good and a sense of disappointment is strongly felt there.

      Once we were working on an assignment, it took more than one week to complete that textile project. At the presentation time it was opposed by the faculty members. You can't believe what was my condition because we spend a lot of time during that project. We were so much disheartened. I am not saying that they were wrong but the way they reject that was wrong. Never ever reject any  idea in front of everyone because its after effects are very bad, people never work with that dedication or they give least interest in their job.

      The fruitful way is to discuss it with the person and say him that there may be some flaws and you have to cover it. You are doing good job, keep it up. If you need any help we are here, it will develop a sense of appreciation and encouragement in him.

      Secondly, never react at that time, always end in positive tone even with bad feed back.

      Don't become offensive while receiving. Exchange your ideas and concepts. Don't take at self criticism. Rejection of ideas is not rejection of the person.
