What First Aid Do I Give To A Cat With A Swollen, Red Nipple?
8+ yr. Old female Siamese Cat has an enlarged, red nipple with clear discharge. She is in tact, lives with a fixed male who breeds her every heat cycle, and currently seems to be experiencing a false pregnancy, nesting, etc. What should I do?

False pregnancy in cats is very, very rare. Mammary hyperplasia usually occurs for other reasons.
However, many false pregnancies are mild and resolve over 2-3 weeks. Stimulation of the mammary glands prolongs the false pregnancy. Do not bath, compress, or rub the mammary glands. Do not allow the cat to groom herself, suck or lick her nipples.
Nipples to not usually become red and irritated--this may mean an infection is present. Your cat needs to be examined by a veterinarian to diagnose the cause of mammary enlargement and see if any treatment is needed.
If the false pregnancy is not self-limiting or seems severe your veterinarian will be able to assist you with further treatment options.

She has had one kitten before, 7 yrs. ago, premie that did not live past 1 wk. old. Has also had false pregnancy before *vet diagnosed* about 4 yrs. ago. The swelling looks much better today and she is losing interest in her "nest" in my closet. Did call vet and he said pretty much what you did, so thanks so much for your comments. :) Do cats get hysterectomies for this sort of thing?
Yes you can have your cat spayed (ovariohysterectomy) where her ovaries and uterus will be removed. Glad she's doing better!
You are going to have to take her to the vet. She could have a blocked duct, that has gotten infected. Hope this helps, good luck.

You could try bathing the area regular if its clear discharge then it might not yet have become infected if symptoms persist i would get a vets opinion

She will be ok animals can get faults pregnancy too. and they don' know any better so they think it is time to start getting ready. If she was o become a mom then you know she would be a good one.
