How Can I Train My Jack Russell Terrier To Fetch ?
My dog Franklin knows a few tricks & seems very intelligent, maybe fetching is boring to him. He seems eager to cooperate but how can I get him to fetch ?

Problem is... He's not a retriever.. He's just programmed for the chase down part of it... Not the bring back... And chances are he's smart enough to know that whatever you're throwing isn't going to go anywhere, so he figures... Why chase it.
Start with a keep away or tug-o-war game.. Then when he's having fun, try short little tosses up in the air for him to catch... Be animated and excited... "get it.. Get it.." and make a big deal if he does catch it. initially you'll have to fight him for it to do it again.. But eventually he'll start liking the catch as much as the fight and let it go more and more easily. Once he gets interested in the game... Start moving back and throwing from farther and farther away... Still up and letting him catch. Once he's got it from a ways away.. Call him back and offer a tiny treat in exchange for the toy... Once you have him catching and coming... You start throwing in some over shots so he has to go retrieve it for the treat... I think you see where I'm going with this... Keep slowly progressing until you have him fetching and having fun.. At that point you can slowly cut out the treats.. Maybe just keep one or two for getting started and finishing. Start with short sessions.. And learn to gauge his interest... You want to stop when he's still engaged and having fun.. Then you can start to work in the Frisbee ; )

You could take him to a quiet area in a park and take a ball maybe some toys and practice throwing and catching ,if you keep treats in your pocket and praise good behavior he will soon catch on good luck
