Conjunctivitis is a swelling of the crust that covers both the inside layer of the eyelid and the white of the eye. It may be caused by allergies, infections, irritation or insufficient tear production.

Dry eye happens when the tear glands working slow down and cannot provide a dog's eyes with sufficient tears. This may be caused by allergies, drug reactions, injuries or viral diseases. It can also cause blindness.
  
Corneal Ulceration results when the cornea's exterior surface is injured by a foreign thing or bacterial infection or is injured by insufficient tear. It is very painful and dogs eyes may star to squint.

Epiphora:
When the standard flows of tears are block then dog's eye continually started to weeps and the hair around it appears stained.

Glaucoma and Cataracts
Just like human dogs also have these severe eye diseases. In Cataract this disease blurs the lens which is present in the eyes and is the most common reason of blindness. Some dogs inherit such diseases so it is good to do through examination in early age by the veterinarian. Glaucoma shoots from too much force being applied upon the internal eyes as a result of which reduce amount of fluid draining from eyes.

An ulcerated conjunctiva, a spot on the side of the eye. What is best treatment? Any ointments? My doctor only prescribes surgery but has not even prescribed a pain killer or healing ointment to try first.
