Is It Really Possible To Acquire A Yorkie Or A Yorkie/mix Puppy For Free?
I have been hunting for a Yorkie or a Yorkie/mix female on line for weeks. I live on SSI and have found that buying any puppy, even one from a rescue is really very costly for someone like me.

Go to petfinder.com you can search for animals by breed, size, age, and sex. You can also enter your zip code to find shelters closest to you. Good luck!
(sorry, I forgot to say that you can then call around to the shelters that you find and a lot of them will have small donation or adoption fee.) The highest might be $200. Which is really cheap for a puppy. If you cannot afford that, you may want to consider another type of pet. Dogs can get fairly expensive. They need annual shots and monthly heartworm and flea and tick medicine. Please don't be one of these people who get a dog and then afterwards realize that they cannot afford them. Think of things like, 'if my dog gets sick, can i afford treat him up to a reasonable amount?'if the answer is no, a dog really isn't for you. Get a bird, hamster, even a cat costs much less than a dog. Don't buy a dog you can't afford, he or she will just end up back a shelter.
