Is Remenham Close To The River Thames?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Yes, it is a village in the expanded noose of river Thames below Henley. The place is commonly called the Berkshire bank of river Thames. Remenham wood, the river and the fields are a perfect setting for symbiotic living and an ideal habitat for many species of the local fauna and one can get to see many uncommon birds in the region.
Remenham Church is also a tourist attraction and one can take in several historic sites like an ancient flint stone building of 1870, belonging to the Norman era; the structure is still intact. Another important land mark is a house of red bricks built in the second half of the 19th century presumably in the 1860s.
For water lovers there is Remenham Club a privately owned club basically for rowers; the view that the location offers is indeed breathtaking.
Opposite Remenham Church is the Temple Island in the middle of the river which is under the jurisdiction of Berkshire. It was designed by Fawley and was constructed in the 18th century around 1770.
