Are Wireless Broadband Networks Difficult To Set Up?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Not necessarily so long as the computers you wish to connect wirelessly are kitted out with adaptors cards. Almost all new laptops purchased now are wireless-enabled and will automatically scan for a wireless signal out of the box.

Going wireless and transmitting the connection signal via radio waves is a much less messy option than hard wiring all your machines. It is ideal if you wish to share a broadband connection or want to use a laptop in a number of different rooms. And as many wireless routers have Ethernet and USB ports as well, it is possible to share a broadband connection with a mix of desktop hard wired computers and wireless-ready laptops for maximum flexibility.

You will be required to run your wireless router's installation CD on all machines you wish to connect up. This is an auto-process and with machines running Windows XP there's little or no installations required.
