Can You Solve Showing All Steps [2,500-900)*2%]+150?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    Perhaps you mean
    ((2500-900)*2%)+150    (the parentheses must match)

((1600)*2%)+150    (perform the subtraction within the inner parentheses)
    (32)+150    (perform the multiplication. 2% = 2/100)
    182    (perform the addition)
    _____
    2% = 2/100 = .02
    1600*2% = 1600*2/100 = 3200/100 = 32
    1600*2% = 1600*.02 = 32.00

When you have a product like (1600)(2)(1/100), you can rearrange the order to suit yourself. (The associative and commutative laws let you do that.) I prefer to evaluate this as
    (1600)(1/100)(2) = (1600/100)(2) = 16*2 = 32
