    As of 2001, Hull had a population of around 243,589. The population has been reestimated to 249,100 in July 2005.

    Males comprise of 119131, while females comprise of 124458. Hull has a birth rate of around 68.9%. The non-white British consist of 4.5%. The mixed rate population comprise of 3% of the population. In1801, the total populace of Kingstown under Hull was around 21,280. in1901, it raised a little higher to 236,772.

    The percentage of Hull in the following age groups are as follows: Age 0-4 is 15,012 (6.1627%), Aged 5-9 is 16,954 (6.9599%), Aged 10-14 is17,367 (7.1295%), Aged 15-19 is 16,352 (6.7128%), Aged 20-24 is 18,085 (7.4242%), Aged 25-29 is 16,773 (6.8856%), Aged 30-34 is 18,464 (7.5798%), Aged 35-39 is 18,455 (7.5761%) and Aged 80+ is 9,102 (3.7365%)

    However, every year Hull has observed a declining percentage of population.

      Those population figures are for the underbounded city itself though.

      Taking into account the actual  built up urban area, including the citys western suburbs gives a figure closer to 330,000. The city has a 30 minute travel-to-work area population of around 400,000.

      The city council boundary area itself has seen increases in the last few years, and is forecast to be around 254,000 for the next census in 2011.
