Can Playing Games On The Internet Cause Vertigo?

Medics advise that you should have a short break from computers every 2 hours, and an extended rest every 6 hours. If your mum (at 56 none the less) was playing constantly for 12-24 hours or more I would say it's very likely vertigo could be a side effect.

I would give it a week of tamer computer usage and then refer her to a GP or doctor is symptoms persist.

I'm not sure if that would be the total cause for Vertigo... Thought I have definitely experienced dizziness and a strange "enlarged" feeling in my head, like there is too much pressure or something. A little difficult to explain, but to sum it up: I feel a little off balance and like I'm ABOUT to be dizzy, but not quite there yet.

I honestly don't think that playing games on the internet causes vertigo, because my brother has been playing these type of games for 10 years, about three hours a day, and he is fine, he doesn't even wear glasses. But maybe it depends on the person.

I don't think it is vertigo either, however it can be exhaustion.  There have been people that stayed on the computer for long periods of time and died.  You have to get up and move around and excercise, and take periodic breaks.  It is definitely not good for your vision, among other things.  Good-Luck.
