I would take your dog to the vet, sharpish before this turns into something nasty.

There are several reasons that may be the cause of the swelling, but its best to get proper medical advice on this type of problem.

Your dog may have come into contact with a bee or wasp sting, which will disappear within a few days. They might have been chewing or licking something toxic or chemicals, which can have a reaction on the skin (much like a burn).

Another reason could be that your dog has a bacterial infection which has caused the swelling, which can be accompanied with foul-smelling breath and unusual behaviour.

Whichever the case may be do not hesitate to take your dog to get checked over properly.
