A walkthrough is a guide which helps computer game players to solve particular games. Walkthroughs are usually available on the internet on games sites, and have in-depth advice on how to solve particular games. Walkthroughs help readers to get through the game. This is usually advice on solving puzzles, finding hidden objects and locations, defeating enemies, character guides, object guides (such as weapons if it is an action game,), information on alternative routes in the game and much more.

Walkthroughs can also be purchased, and include images of the game as opposed to an online walkthrough, which is usually just plain text.  Online walkthroughs often contain logos which are comprised of characters (letters and numbers), and added for effect.

Websites such as Gamespot.com have a large variety of walkthroughs for various games, as well customer reviews of the games and Gamespot's own opinions and ratings for the games.
