Who Invented The First Ship Made Of Metal?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

That's a vexed question, as composite ships with metal and wood parts were common from the 15th century onwards, but it wasn't until the 19th century that all-iron ships were built. The first all-iron warship was the USS Michigan, launched in 1843.
