What Do The World Think About Japan Or Japanese?

I have lived in Japan for 5 years and I believe Japan to be a very safe, clean and welcoming country.
 
I think that Japanese people are generally very polite and considerate, but tend to be close -minded and uneducated about other cultures.

Personally, I find Japanese people to be polite, courteous, and highly intelligent.  While I am not thrilled with how Japan behaved during their military adventurism on the early half of the 20th century, I have always admired how they were able to adopt western technologies and transform themselves from a feudal society, to a major world power, in just a few decades.  Their artistic abilities and attention to detail is also quite impressive.

I love the culture, and the history. I love the people too. But there is a change in them when they come to America, that sometimes sets me aback, they are very closed off to Americans.

I have never met any japanese long enough to know them personally but from what i see on the pbs channels they are in some part masters in robotics,driven in education at least the special they showed on channel 34 made this out to be the case..but then they also showed younger japanese kids that we're more interested in the united states and what we are doing over here... Basically i would say to a certain extent they are just like kids over here in the U.S. ... Again since i have not actually been to japan i would not know what it is like...but from the game shows we are now getting to see they like to have crazy fun as long as they are not involved in it....sort of like seeing someone fall down or run into something and hurting themselves like on worlds funniest videos..again i guess in the end they are just like everyone else...lol :) later..
