Simulated diamonds is something which is a kind of imitation or even a simulants of diamond. It also shares very much the same gemological characteristics. The material used is also more or less the same. Simulants are different from synthetic diamond, which nothing like simulants is real diamond, and consequently has the similar material properties as usual diamond. Enhanced diamonds are not something that you can relate with this definition. The most widespread diamond simulants are high-leaded glass (i.e., rhinestones) and cubic zirconia (CZ), which are both synthetic materials. Some of the earlier materials used were strontium titanate and synthetic rutile.
