Most anti aging creams have some combination of vitamins retinol, elastin, proV6, vitamin E oil, and AHAs(alpha hydroxy acids) depending on which age group they cater to.
You should certainly use a day cream which is often a lighter formulation than your night cream, which should nourish and replenish, while you sleep.
Your day moisturiser should contain a uv filter to protect you from the worst of the suns rays.
It can also contain AHA which polishes skin by removing dead skin cells, making it more radiant and translucent.
It night you could use a night cream, and a separate eye cream or serum, to nourish and repair. This may contain vitamin E, retinol, or other ingredients, to trap moisture and retain it, to plump up the skin.

ditto wisequeen, I might add that starting using it at a young age such as 30 will give her a better chance of warding off damage and will keep her skin nice for so much longer, you will be able to fool people. There is so much good stuff out there, and you do not have to pay a fortune.
