    Times New Roman is a serif font which first came about in 1931. It was created by Stanley Morrison, Stirling Burgess and Victor Lardent. The font was first designed for The Times newspaper.

    Times New Roman has been one of the font choices in Microsoft Word in Microsoft Windows since version 3.1.

    Times New Roman is perhaps the most popular font in Microsoft alongside 'Arial', which first came about as a TrueType font in 1990 and then as a PostScript font in 1991.

    Times New Roman is used as the default font in a number of applications including web browers and word processors.

      The times new Roman is a font type which is related to the serif font family and it is authorized by the THE TIMES . It was used to solve the problem of printing the news with low quality and also with high-speed. This font was first circulated under the command of MONOTYPE company .

      It is a true type fonts , in these fonts letters are very light and all the first letter of all nouns are capital. This font is widely used for the magazines, display for the advertisement purpose, for the reports and also for the office documents.

      The times new Roman is also compatible with the Microsoft windows ,in many of the windows applications times new Roman is the default font, and when we install the windows it automatically installed like other applications .Now  the new version of the office 2007 has the times new Roman as its default font instead of serif or veranda.

      The installed times new Roman have many further types like TIMES new Roman ITALIC , TIMES new Roman Bold ITALIC , TIMES new Roman Bold and these all are used in many applications and specially in the Microsoft office documents.

      The Times Roman is used for the MAC operating systems and, The Times New Roman is used for the windows and other operating systems.
