What Were The Defects In The 1998 Census In Pakistan Regarding The Sector Of Childbirth?

Besides inefficiencies along with inaccuracies conducted in the 1998 census of Pakistan in manifold areas of concern, the sector of childbirth was no exception either. Various types of peccadilloes were committed and information that was presented in the disguise of validity and reliability was both invalid and unreliable. Specifically the census data that was presented on CBE (Child Ever Born) had a great deal of flaws, which were presented in the final report of the census conducted in 1998. Another factor that was largely under-enumerated was the infant mortality rate that was underplayed to a magnitude of around a significantly gargantuan 30-50 percent. In the light of all these inefficiencies and inaccuracies of the erstwhile census, special measures are being taken to avoid any kind of foibles. For that purpose, an addition of two columns to the demographic variables has been made. This is done particularly to gain a proper estimation of the maternal mortality rate by employing the time of death approach.
