What Bills Should You Keep And For How Long?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A bill is the indication of having paid for something. Thus it is a sort of proof for buying certain things and at times also acts as a receipt for having paid for the object. Therefore all the bills should be preserved for at least a period of a couple of months then in case it is of no use further then they can be disposed of.

But remember that it is better to store any bill that might be related to taxes and law for at least six years. Thus in general terms it can be said that every bill should be preserved until they may be of use as evidence or proof for claiming anything. Thus in case you want to dispose off any bills it is better to check them thoroughly and ensure that it would be of no use to you in future.
