How Was The Cats' Quarrel Resolved In Aesop's Fable?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Two cats stole a large piece of meat from their owner's kitchen. As they were about to eat it, the tabby cat remarked that it must be at least four inches across. The black cat retorted that it was at least five, and the two began to argue. The noise of their quarrel attracted a monkey, who asked what the matter was. When they explained, he agreed that it was a difficult problem, especially as the piece was such an awkward shape. To make it easier, he bit off a mouthful and invited them to try again. "Three inches," said the tabby. "Three and a half!" snapped the black cat. The monkey took another huge bite, with the same result. This continued until the two cats realised that there was no longer any meat left – the monkey had eaten it all.

The moral of this story is that you should keep your mind on what's important.
