Guillain barre syndrome is an autoimmune disorder which affect the peripheral nervous system. This disorder is triggered by infectious diseases. It causes acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (AIDP) leading to weakness of limbs, numbness and paralysis. Guillain barre syndrome can also paralyse the breating muscles and cause pulmonary malfunction. This is most fatal complication. There is no cure of this disorder but plasma exchange and use of immunoglobulin can help to manage the problem.
