Allergies are a common cause of itching in dogs. Allergies include flea, food, and
environmental. When dogs have allergies
the skin is not normal and secondary infections (bacterial, yeast, mites) are
common. Your veterinarian will help
diagnose the problem and create a treatment plan individualized for your dog.
Allergies are treated from several angles. Treatment often includes frequent bathing
with medicated shampoo, omega-3 fatty acids, anti-histamines, short courses of
steroids, immune modulating drugs, and allergy shots.

It is that time of year that they get hot spots!!!you can give him benadryl and hydrocortisone cream. If this continues then he needs to take him to the vet for a cortisone shot!!! My dog that has passed had this all the time during the summer and this what we were told to do!! Best of luck!!!

My dog had this same problem. I took him to his vet and she said he was having an allergic reaction, she gave him a shot and he was feeling much better within 24 hours.

He could have allergies or just dry skin. Buy some oatmeal shampoo for dogs and try that to see if it helps or not.
