What Is Principal Account?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Principal amount is the actual amount that is paid or received. The concept of principal amount is widely used in accounts. For example, if an individual takes $100,000 loan from a bank and he has to pay 110,000 after one year then 100,000 is the principal amount and 10,000 is the interest amount. Another example is that if you give a loan to your neighbor then the amount of the loan is the principal amount. Principal amount does not include interest in it.
