Answer Question

In a growing use of the internet, people have begun to shop online. You can buy products directly from large companies like L.L Bean, Dell computer, Wal-Mart and Microsoft at their websites, or you can shop at the web sites of electronic mails where thousands of smaller companies collectively display their wares. Electronic catalogs on the Web show color graphics of products. Search tools and intelligent agents may help you to locate the product you desire without excessive browsing. If you want to buy a computer, you may be able to configure your system online so it precisely meets your needs. If you want software, there's a good chance that you will be able to download a copy of it. While many businesses have engaged in electronic commerce for years, online shopping by consumers is a relatively new phenomenon. According to some industry experts, it is also about to take off in a big way. Online shopping benefits both businesses and consumers, since businesses don't need salespeople to sell online and some of the savings in labour costs can be passed on to consumers. Today, the most popular online shopping categories are PC hardware, travel, entertainment products such as books and music etc.

When shopping online be very wary of the site that you are going to buy off. Always ensure that there is a padlock on the screen which should mean it is a secure site and if possible ask people you know if they have ever bought anything from that particular website. You could always ask people on Blurtit if anyone has shopped there. Be very very careful before you give your card details online as someone could very easily steal your identity if the website is unsecured.

It is the purchase of items by going to some website, say Amazon.com. You have to give them some form of payment information so chose wisely where you buy things. You should have some sort of security program running at all time. At least antivirus but much more to be safest.
