What Is The Purpose Of A Registered Office For A Company?

Answer Question

The statement that constitutes the registered office for a company in its Memorandum of Association is the statement that entrenches the nationality of the company as well as its domicile.  This is immensely necessary for any company as being an independent, distinct person, yet having no physical existence, a company should have other necessary elements of its identity such as its place of operations for its stakeholders to identify and located it.  It is particularly necessary specially in a situation where notices need to be issued or documents need to be served to the company.  This is the main reason for a company to have a registered office statement in its Memorandum of Association.  Nevertheless this very registered office statement does not encumber the company from operating any place elsewhere than the place mentioned in the registered statement.  For example if a company is registered in the province of Sindh, Pakistan, it is conveniently feasible for a company to commence its operations abroad as well.
