Which Of The Worlds Countries Have Never Been Conquered By Another Nation?

I'm looking for a list of countries that have never been conquered and ruled by another nation although they may have lost battles.

I think throughout history, most countries have been conquered by someone.  All of Europe has been conquered, though with changing borders and countries coming into and out of existence throughout history makes this hard to know (for instance, the area of Germany was at one point part of the Roman Empire--but did Germany exist prior to the existence of the Roman Empire or spring up afterwards?)  Nonetheless, Germany lost WWII and was therefore conquered and ruled over by the Allies afterwards.  Also, what is your definition of a country?  Is the Sioux (or other native American race) Nation a country?  Or the Incans, Mayans, etc. Of central and south America?  So, both north and south America have been conquered and ruled over.  Africa, too, I guess, as most of Africa was ruled by the European powers.

Scotland has never been conquered all though ruled by an english government.
Russia has never been conquered even though many attempts have been made, due to
the size of the country it has been able to fend off complete domination.
Every other country has been dominated by an opposing force at some time in history.

Afghanistan (and iran) conquered by alexander, and arguable by russia, and the american/british.
China conquered by the mongals, and arguably the japanese.
Also, russia largely conquered by the mongols/various hordes, and vikings before them - indeed they created the kievan rus.
Scotland conquered by irish (scotti, dal raita), and saxons, as well as a good kicking from the romans, and conqerering by gay williams army leading to the act of union.

I would vouch for the vatican city

Germany was part of the Roman Empire, however at the time it was not called Germany and the "Germans" that took over the Roman Empire were actually from Nordic Heritage.

No nation on Earth that has survived being utterly independent - that means either being conquered, or governed by another nation.
However, there are Nations that have never been conquered, though for some, it is a grey area.
If we rule out nations that were 'created', but never conquered - this would include most of the new world ie USA, Australia, Canada, most of South America.

So here is the list of Mother Nations (the old world) that have never been conquered, but may have been governed for a short period by a foreign entity. There are 3 nations. These are Scotland, Sweden and Thailand
          - Scotland and Sweden have had foreign kings as head of states,
          - parts of Thailand were under different rulers until it merged into the state we know today.

Some might say Russia, Japan, Arabia.
          - Russia was conquered and dominated by the Mongol Empire for 200 years
          - Japan was forced into 'unconditional surrender' (conquered) by the Allies in WW2
          - Arabia was ruled by the Ottoman Empire for several centuries

England was ruled by both the Romans and the Normans. The USA fought for independence from Britain but I don't know to what extent Britain controlled the country. Was Germany ever ruled by Rome, I would count their WW2 defeat anyway.
