    The city of Brighton and Hove is located in the county of East Sussex, which is located in the southeast of England region. The city of Brighton and Hove is the largest part of the Brighton-Worthing-Littlehampton conurbation. It has been awarded the status of a Fairtrade City (which is also known as a Fairtrade Town).

    Fairtrade town is a grade which is awarded to a town by an FLO member of the Fairtrade labelling initiative. These include such organisations as the Fairtrade Foundation in the United Kingdom, Fairtrade Mark in the Republic of Ireland, etc. It describes an area which is committed to the promotion of those goods that have been certified by Fairtrade.

    The other statuses which are awarded by the organisations which are affiliated to Fairtrade are those of Fairtrade City, Fairtrade Village, Fairtrade Zone, Fairtrade Borough, Fairtrade Island, Fairtrade County and Fairtrade University. The town which is situated between the cities of Brighton and Hove is the town of Shoreham-by-Sea, which is situated to the east of Hove and to the west of Brighton.
