Languages: This girl's name is used in Dutch, English, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Polish and Czech.

Alternative Spellings: Dianna, Dyana and Dyanna

The Latinate form of this name, Diana, was borne by the late Princess of Wales. The outpouring of affectionate grief that marked her passing could find further expression in the naming of baby Dianas well into the new century.

Diana was the Roman goddess of the hunt and wild things.  Her Greek counterparts were Artemis, Phoebe, and Orthia.
