What Exactly Is The GI Diet And Is It Any Good?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The GI diet is a diet which seems to have emerged over the past couple of years and many celebrities have tried and tested it and found it to be extremely good. Even nutritionists and fitness experts have praised the diet so it must be doing something right!

Basically the GI diet might have only really become more popular over the past couple of years, but it has actually been around for quite a while. It was designed by a professor named 'Dr David Jenkins' in 1981 and the letters GI stand for Glycaemic Index and basically there are various different foods which you can find in various supermarkets, which all have GI numbers on. The numbers go from 0-100 and generally the lower the number, the better the food is for you. Most people who have tried this diet have noticed that they have lost a couple of pounds each week so it does tend to work.
