How Long Does A Pre-authorization Take To Cancel Its Self?
I work in a hotel and we ahve to take pre-authorizations from all guests as they check in. Sometimes they decide to use another method of payment upon check out. How long does it take the money to be released completely back to the account?and do weekends make a difference?

I do not know about all banks, but mine takes three business days. The charging hotel can, however notify the bank and have the funds released immediately.

Bank Pre-Authorzation can take 7-10 Business days (Excludes Weekends and Holidays) The average time for a Pre-Authorization to cancel in 3-4 Business Days.
