What Are Advantages And Disadvantages Of Television?

.Television is an important form of communication and has been for many years. Television brings important historical events, both positive and negative, directly into our homes. People don’t just read about current events, they experience them in real time.
Television can also be a fine teaching tool – there are many television shows on the air that are informative and educational. The right television shows can teach our children about morals and values as well as right from wrong. Educational television is not only for children however; Public television as well as cable television channels such as National Geographic and The History Channel serve as learning tools for adults. In fact many colleges and universities use local channels to provide distance learners the opportunity to attend lectures given on television.
Along with the advantages listed above there are also disadvantages to television. First the same proliferation of new channels that provides additional educational opportunities also provides opportunities for children to be exposed to more inappropriate content than ever before. It is not uncommon for children to have access to movies and programs intended to be viewed only by mature audiences. While technology has been put into place to help conscientious parents censor the channels and shows their children can access, these methods are far from fool proof and they are only as effective as the parents who choose whether or not to utilize them. This unfettered access to adult material appears to manifest itself in a variety of different ways but most people would agree today’s children are more aware of adult themes (such as sex and violence) at an earlier age than ever before.

           Television is one of the most important sources of communication these days. As everyone knows that the communication these days is being done either through print or electronic media and television is an integral part of the electronic media. There are several advantages of television like we all know that we can have a clear idea that what is happening in the world, we can have live information about the several events like sports and any other good or bad events happening on the globe.

           One can have a weather forecast and accordingly plan several things before time. It is also a good source of entertainment which is very cheap and within the access of every one. Television has shrunk the distance of the world you can watch what is happening several thousand miles away from you. So in totality it is information from all over the world, and it is fun and enjoyment with convenience.

           However along with some positive sides it has its disadvantages as well like watching too much of television also affects your eye and nerves. Television creates such a spell on children and in some cases it also effects the elders that they actually lose their own opinion they feel whatever is being shown on television is correct and should be practised as such. In such situation it is the responsibility of the broad caster to show what is safe to be shown on the television. But still several irresponsible television channels show content which is not be shown for every one like contents of sex, and violence etc.

Television is a good medium of communication that prevents us from communicating with each other. Glued to our seats we watch this one-eyed monster leaving our guests in the room, or turning a deaf ear to our mother's call. Often our food is left uneaten and home work undone. After the Second World War, Barid invented it for us so that we might get knowledge with pleasure. But we have closed our eyes to all kinds of knowledge and have opened up our hearts to all types of vulgar pleasure. Now the children who used to hear stories from their mothers and grandmothers like to see cartoons. Mothers are not in a mood to tell stories about ghosts and fairies.
They are busy in watching Television. But all this does not mean that TV has only bad aspects. Many educational, scientific, historical and political programs that are shown on TV are very interesting and informative. We are taken to any corner of the world where any game of our interest is being played. We are taught how a particular dish is cooked, how a particular disease can be prevented or cured, how our houses can be decorated without spending much money.

Television is an innovative invention of 18th century. People were shocked of it when it came in to being. It was to explore the world before all. It was giving us information about whatever we want to know within seconds. Now we have variety of channels and we are taking full advantage of all of them. We may get information about science and technology. We may get detailed news and information from television all the time. We may switch to the channel of our choice the way we want to see it.
It has some negative points as well. It is spoiling the new generation by the help of vulgar media. We should keep children away from bad channels. Nowadays media is ameliorating on a fast pace. We are unable to discriminate between good and bad but we may discriminate if we go for selective channels on television. It is easy to avoid disadvantages of television by highlighting its plus points but it is up to us that how we kill the bad effects of television upon society.

It is one of the most interesting inventions of modern science.it has change the human outlook.it has many advantages and disadvantages.it can be very profitable if it is well used but the misuse of television leads to many problems

It is very important for our life style that we are having now.It is very useful for fathers,mothers,
grandparents,students etc.....There are many good channels like discovery channel,news channels etc....we get many,many more knowledge that we get from our school from the
television
The disadvantages are,
if we are keeping more voice it wll cause due to noise pollution.There are bad channels also.
