What Is Computer Hardware?

Computer hardware is characterized by those devices which can be touched physically. For example you can touch a mouse, keyboard, monitor, CPU etc. But you cannot touch the software that is run in the computer. Other computer hardware include Scanners, Printers, Camera, Microphone. Hardware also include peripheral devices which are attached into the computers. Usually hardware's function is to obtain or show the output generated by the processing of instructions in the computer. E.g. You can use keyboard to show the letter typed on the computer screen. Hence hardware is an important component of computer which is tangible.
