So, Is Ruth Archer REALLY Gonna Leave David For Sam?

It's been flagged up as a distinct possibility on the Archer's chatboards (bbc and Newsgroup). Okay, let's amend, that, a distinct HOPE. Because Ruth Archer gets consistently voted the most annoying Archers character, trumpeting even Linda Snell and Emmer Carter/Grundy.

At the moment the changes of Ruth legging it looks pretty ludicrous. Would she really abandon her children and comfortable middle class farming life to run off and become the girlfriend of a migrant cow-herder? Not likely, would you do it?

In fact the whole plotline is silly. Before the appearance of Sophie Barlot Ruth was very happily married, Sophie's efforts to seduce David wouldn't have changed all that.

Maybe the script writers are actually acceding to the demands of the fans that Ruth should go, in which case, which character will be the next target of their vitriole?

This question is now a bit out of date and we all know that she didn't leave David for Sam. The question now is if and when Sam will come back into the programme and what will be the likely result?
