What Were The Nva's Defensive Tactics?

Answer Question

There is this military dictum that states that the guerrilla fights the battle of the flea and that the army it fights faces the dilemma of the dog, too large an area to protect against too small an adversary.

In North Vietnam the NVA had dug in and established well built and not so well built bunkers. These bunkers operated in cells that were very often disassociated from the central command. Their task was simply to remain where they were and almost everything the Americans threw at them from the sky and with their big guns was ineffective. The NVA was established in three man teams; which operated, lived and fought together. This built a strong between individual members and kept spirits high. In the south they could easily blend in to their surroundings. One minute he's here to kill you the next he's selling you fish.
