Do I Need A Degree To Be A Landscape Designer?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It is a good idea to perhaps take a degree or least some other type of course which helps you to learn the basics of landscape design. If you do take a course, then you can feel more confident about the subject rather than just jumping into a career with little or no knowledge at all. Also, taking a course will help you to gain knowledge of what the job of being a landscape designer actually involves and how you will offer your services to clients.

Also, because some courses give you the chance to experience what it is like to deal with clients and design their gardens, you will be able to get an idea of whether or not this type of work suits you. Having a qualification to your name will also improve your chances of getting work. Have a look around and see what courses are available. It doesn't necessarily have to be a degree that you take, although this would be very beneficial.
