How Do I Know If I Should Get My Dog's Ears Cropped?
I’m buying a puppy on Saturday a Doberman and I need to know if I should get her ears cropped. I think it’s cruel, but do they need that done to be a perfect Doberman?

Getting a dog's ears cropped these days is considered as an offence. Animal activists all over the world are making this issue a very big one and are keeping a watch on dog owners who are trying to do this. Your new puppy doesn't need to be perfect. You don't need to cut his/ her ears so that the puppy looks perfect. All that matters is how much you love your puppy and how much it loves you. Cropping the ears of a puppy is a very cruel thing and the fact's that your puppy is new he will be scared of you as you will have don't such a cruel thing to it. It will take more time to start trusting you and loving you than normal.
Looks of a pet should always be considered secondary. Remember, you are buying a pet not because you want to flaunt its looks but because you want to love and be loved in return. So stick to that and don't be cruel to animals.

It's up to you on if you like the way the ears look cropped or not? I have two min pins and me personally I think a min pin does not look like a min pin without his ears cropped. My two have had no issues with the cropping and there ears turned out beutifully. If it were myself and I was a owner of a Doberman I would deffinatly get the ears cropped, that's the "true" Doberman look. I would recommed talking to a vet. If you are in debate on getting this done or not. Hope this helped :O)
