Yellow Lab, 13 Years Old, Is Throwing Up Large Amounts Of White Foamy Saliva, Why?

Answer Question

Vomiting in dogs has many causes.  The disease process can be related to the gastrointestinal tract or can be in a different organ system.  In older dogs serious causes of vomiting need to be considered--these include kidney failure, liver disease, diabetes, cancer, and metabolic problems.  Your dog needs to be examined by a veterinarian.  Blood work, imaging, and supportive care need to be started.
