What Is The Educational System Of Jamaica? Nationally Funded? Privately Funded?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In Jamaica, the Education is funded by the government and primary education is necessary which is for six years. The government is spending a considerable percentage of its budget on education every year so that the quality can be raised. The students do get enrolled at the primary and secondary level but the quality of education is not good enough for them to go ahead with their education.

Apart from the public schools, there are also some private schools which are not funded by the government. This is also causing difficulties as there are two systems widely varying in their standards and quality.

Efforts are being made to improve the education standards and UNICEF is playing a major part in devising plans to do so.
