Ming refers to the short of the name Yao Ming, who is a Chinese professional basketball player and a centre in the National Basketball Association. His father was Yao Zhiyuan and mother was Fang Fengdi who is both excellent Chinese national team basketball players. Yao Ming is 7'6" (2.29 m) and currently plays Houston Rockets in the NBA. He was chosen by Houston as the 1st on the whole pick of the 2002 NBA Draft and signed a contract with them on October 21, 2002. Yao is also the name of the tallest player in the NBA. He is also amongst the top 25 tallest basketball players across the globe and is amid the world's tallest men.
