A rifle cabinet or gun cabinet is a case that displays firearms in an elegant manner. Detailed plans to build a rifle cabinet can be obtained from either www.woodworkersworkshop.com or www.furnitureplans.com. Here are some basic dimensions for a gun rack. Wood that can be used is pine or better still wood that matches your other furniture. The gun rack consists of a base of wood with drawers, a dual panelled upper section to display the rifles and interior wood angles to hold the guns in place. The upper sections four feet less three and a quarter inches, the base is twenty four inches in height. The breath of the cabinet is forty two and a half inches and the depth or width is fourteen and three quarter inches. Each door panel holding the glass frames should be nineteen and three eighth inches wide and forty three and a three eighth inches in length. The one eight inches glass is fifteen and three quarters in breath. One side of the upper cabinet forms the rifle stand while the other has horizontal panels to keep pistols or visible ammunition. This last rifle cabinet can be seen at www.vintageprojects.com for free.
